Tatevik Balayan, MD, MPH Candidate (2017)

DSC05501Dr. Tatevik Balayan joined the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Republic of Armenia as an epidemiologist in November 2015. She coordinates preventive measures and is involved in monitoring of different infectious diseases. In this position, she also contributes to development of national guidelines and protocols on prevention, diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases.
In the past, Dr. Balayan worked at various public health agencies. In particular, she cooperated with the National Center for AIDS Prevention as a doctor-statistician for over 5 years and taught hygiene and ecology courses at Yerevan State Medical University (YSMU) while being a medical resident in the Department of Hygiene and Ecology. During her career she presented at different international conferences and workshops, and has published scientific articles, contributed to numerous national reports, medical protocols and practical manuals. Dr. Balayan earned her MD degree from YSMU in the field of preventive medicine.
